The great smooth jazz band Acoustic Alchemy is from England, they will give their first show in China. This wonderful acoustic guitar show will be held 19th February in Shanghai. You must not miss it if you like smooth jazz.
During the 1980s£¬there was little grateful audience for smooth jazz and modern instrumental performance in the UK, and the big players in the genre were all American. The pioneering sound of two duelling acoustic guitars¡ªone on nylon guitar and one on steel¡ªwas a fresh touch on the genre, often backed up by a double bass, percussion, and occasionally string quartet The Violettes. In the mid-1980s, one of the founder Simon James left the band, another founder Nick Webb discovered Greg Carmichael in 1985£¬At this point the history of legendary combination of smooth jazz Acoustic Alchemy£¨AA£©officially began their music life£¬and keep on writing amazing songs for their old and new fans around the world.
Greg Carmichael has a deep skill of classical guitar and Nick Webb is good at jazz guitar£¬a nylon guitar and a steel guitar cooperate very well to make the best smooth songs of the world. No wonder the pairing worked as an in-flight band on Virgin Atlantic flights to and from the United States¡£
¡¶Red Dust And Spanish Lace ¡·was an instant hit as the first album after they joined the Nashville-based label MCA, the first single, "Mr. Chow", fused aspects of Chinese music with reggae, became one of the well-known songs of AA¡£Two more albums followed with MCA ¡ª Natural Elements and the poppier Blue Chip. The title track from Natural Elements became well known in the UK as the theme music for the popular BBC TV programme Gardeners' World.
Acoustic Alchemy were soon moved to the world's biggest jazz label, GRP Records,¡¶Reference Point¡· as the first album work with GRP was get great successful, the title track got the Grammy nominee.Six more albums followed were all widely welcomed¡£AA¡¯ work combines Rhythm and Blues, Flamenco, New Age, Smooth Jazz and other elements£¬two guitars collaborate perfectly£¬simple instrument but telling ample stories, that you must be in love with their track.
"Positive Thinking" was to be Acoustic Alchemy's last album with original frontman Nick Webb but also was perceived as one of the band's best£¬Greg Carmichael has composed his mood and ready to continue the band when the fans felt sad in Webb¡¯s death¡£He brought in understudy Miles Gilderdale as his playing partner, and the band moved label to EMI's Higher Octave, The d¨¦but album on the label, "he Beautiful Game" brought dramatic changes. New, stronger influences came from all sorts of genres, and it soon became clear that experimentation and diversity were to be a key element to the new band. The next album ¡¶AArt¡· was their biggest release to date. Playing for over an hour, containing fourteen tracks, and with assistance from saxophonist Jeff Kashiwa, the album was nominated for a Grammy Award.
No doubt, Greg is great, not only continues the legend of AA, but also gives the fans more inclusive music feeling. How could you learn the heartthrob and strength if you can not go to their live. The bass master Gary Grainger and his brother the drummer Greg Grainger are both on tour.
