Born in the mysterious green land of Connermara, Ireland, Celtic Legends began its tour around the world for performance in 2002 and soon became one of the Irish tap dance sensations. It features Irish classic folklores, traditional music and dance, and a group of live band. From April 30 to May 3, the Celtic Legends will land in Beijing and bring Beijing audience on a magic journey to the mysterious and beautiful Ireland.

CELTIC LEGENDS

Celtic Legends, the show that started in tiny venues in France 6 years ago has now grown into a monster sized show filling huge venues across Europe, having played to over 1 million people now. There have been some exciting developments lately that we can now share with everyone. We are now looking in a new direction artistically and have invited Chicago based musicians, Liz Knowles and Kieran O Hare on board as the new composers and musical directors of the biggest live touring Irish dance show out there. Check out our biography section to check out our new musical director’s history. We are lucky and so proud to be collaborating with such brilliant talent.

The show’s creator Eric Dessauvages and creative director, Michael Londra decided on the pair when looking for a new artistic team to work with.

“In our opinion Liz and Kieran represent the best of what Irish music is today”. Londra continued “they combine not only excellent musicianship but also are aware of the demands of showmanship and the theatrical elements of a  big show like Legends. This is rare in traditional Irish music.” The Celtic Legends organization is thrilled to bring Liz and Kieran on board.”

Eric Dessauvages said “When searching for a new creative team we wanted the best in the world. Liz and Kieran were the obvious choices. We have many plans for the future for new shows and hope that both of them will be with us for those new projects for a long time to come.

The reaction to the new music and band has been electric. The show is so excited to be working with such excellent musicians and can’t wait for the world to hear and see what they are all about.

Having completed a sold out arena tour in France, we have a busy schedule for 2009 including a mammoth visit to China playing the biggest theaters in many of its largest cities, a US tour and 3 month stop in RENO and a tour of South America plus many more European dates in the fall. Added to that are many other countries vying to get the show but we are so busy we have had to ask countries to get in line. What a great complaint to have.

The Celtic Legends cd and dvd has been released by France Television and Universal France and hit the French charts in the Top 40 the week it was released.
